a journey to discover the spectrum of our personality

In the multimedia performance PHASMA the qualities of light are rendered in a multisensory, immersive environment as metaphors for the diversity, and variability of human identity. In collaboration with Argyris Angeli and a group of artists I create a performance space designed as a workshop which comes to life by the performing duo.

The two embark on a colorful exploration of all the possible areas of the light phasma, discovering hidden and bold characteristics of their personalities which either identify or lead to conflict.

Artificial lighting, kinetic sculptures, projection surfaces and light devices such as analogue and digital projectors are the instruments, tools and methods that activate the space, the moving bodies and the audience.

The researcher focuses on the study of a strange phenomenon: a dancing entity which embodies light by adopting its vivid forms and energetic qualities, by polymorphic wearables. The researcher tries to study, understand and tame light through experiments. But the queer luminous existence always escapes sometimes as a wave and sometimes as a particle.

How does light actually behave?
